The fifth and final season of the Duffer brothers’ hit Netflix series Stranger Things is set to premiere in 2025. This closing chapter will be released in three parts toward the end of the year.
Production for the final season began in January 2024 and officially wrapped up in December of the same year. The writers’ room opened in August 2022, shortly after the release of Season 4 Part 2. Despite early progress, delays caused by the pandemic and dual Hollywood strikes pushed the timeline further than expected.
Netflix announced at its TUDUM event on May 31 that the final season will roll out in three parts:
Main cast members, including Noah Schnapp and Finn Wolfhard, reflected on more than a decade of making the show, sharing heartfelt messages and memories on social media as production wrapped.
“The decade we spent on this show changed our lives,” wrote one of the cast members in a post reflecting on the series finale.
Season 5 will consist of eight episodes. Netflix unveiled the episode titles in early November.
