An LA judge has granted actress Denise Richards a five-year restraining order against her estranged husband Aaron Phypers. The decision comes after Richards accused Phypers of physical and emotional abuse during their seven-year marriage.
During a hearing in Los Angeles, Superior Court Judge Mark Juhas instructed Phypers to stay away from Richards, refrain from threatening or harassing her, and surrender any firearms to law enforcement. He also prohibited him from distributing or posting any intimate photos of the 54-year-old star of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”
“Mr. Phypers is ordered to stay at least 100 yards away from Ms. Richards, cease all forms of harassment or communication, and hand over his firearms to police custody,”
stated Judge Juhas during the hearing.
Phypers, 53, was previously arrested outside a Los Angeles courthouse during a restraining order hearing last month. He faces two felony charges related to spousal injury. The couple appeared in court again on Friday for a continuance in the ongoing case.
Richards arrived at the downtown LA courthouse accompanied by a bodyguard. Witnesses described her wearing a cream knitted top, gray fitted pants, and brown leather boots with pink-polished nails. Phypers appeared in a worn black jacket, white shirt, blue tie, and faded gray jeans.
Denise Richards secured a long-term restraining order against Aaron Phypers as a Los Angeles judge imposed strict conditions following allegations of abuse and recent felony charges.
