There’s a gripping mystery and a flame-haired Australian actress, but Dakota Fanning notices significant differences between her latest whodunit, All Her Fault, and last year's hit, The Perfect Couple.
After collaborating with Nicole Kidman, Dakota Fanning shares insights about filming her recent Hollywood project Down Under and reflects on growing up in the limelight.
“There’s no dance,” she laughs about the widely imitated flash mob scene from the 2024 Netflix series featuring Nicole Kidman. “There were also more laughs to The Perfect Couple.”
She adds, “I think that this [All Her Fault] leans more into the thriller aspect. But what we’ve all found is that viewers really love mystery and piecing together who’s involved … That really unites an audience.”
In All Her Fault, Fanning stars with Sarah Snook, an actress she admires, especially after Snook's acclaimed role in Succession.
“Sarah, in real life, is just amazing,” Fanning says of the South Australian native. “She’s such a talented actor and really a down-to-earth, grounded, fun person to be around.”
Fanning notes their busy schedules limited off-set time together.
“She was working so much that we didn’t hang out much off set. I think it’s been really important for her to recharge and refuel and be with her family.”
Based on Andrea Mara’s novel, the eight-part series features Snook as Marissa Irvine, a distraught mother whose child goes missing during a playdate.
This interview highlights Dakota Fanning’s perspective on evolving roles and the appeal of mystery thrillers, showcasing genuine connections with co-stars and the emotional depth of their latest project.
