Marsy’s Law for Wisconsin and Media Associations Host Ethical Victim Reporting Webinar

Marsy’s Law for Wisconsin, in partnership with the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association and the Wisconsin Newspaper Association, is organizing a webinar dedicated to promoting responsible media practices when reporting on crime victims.

The webinar will cover guidance from the National Center for Victims of Crime (NCVC) for journalists, focusing on respectful interaction with victims, shielding survivors from unwanted attention, and using their stories responsibly to benefit both reporters and victims.

It will also link these ethical practices to Wisconsin’s constitutional amendment known as Marsy’s Law, which secures victims' rights such as privacy, notification, and participation in the justice process.
