At a recent meeting, the Bayside Council agreed to advocate for the inclusion of a proposed Bexley train station on the future rail line connecting Kogarah to Parramatta. The initiative aims to improve public transport access for the growing community in the Bexley area and surrounding suburbs.
Council representatives highlighted that a Bexley station would reduce travel times, ease traffic congestion, and encourage sustainable development. Improved rail connectivity between southern Sydney and western suburbs is seen as a major step toward balanced metropolitan growth.
“Investing in this station would offer residents greater transport options and support local economic opportunities,” council members noted during the discussion.
The Council plans to work with state authorities and transport agencies to ensure the proposal is considered in future infrastructure planning discussions.
