EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: BBC 'secretly lines up Holly for Strictly job'

BBC Reportedly Plans Holly Willoughby for 'Strictly Come Dancing'

Former BBC One Controller Peter Fincham has suggested that television presenter Holly Willoughby is being considered to host Strictly Come Dancing following the departure of Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly at the end of the current season.

Willoughby, once the leading face of ITV’s Saturday line-up, may soon return to the BBC spotlight. According to Fincham, the information came from an unexpected place — his hair salon.

“My hairdresser also cuts the hair of a well-known channel controller,” Fincham said. “What’s said in Harry’s the hairdresser stays in Harry’s. But he says with great confidence that Holly Willoughby will take over.”

If true, this would mark a dramatic comeback for Willoughby, 44, who left ITV’s This Morning in 2023 after 14 years amid intense media attention. Her exit followed a turbulent period for the show, including the resignation of her co-host Phillip Schofield after admitting to an affair with a younger male colleague and concealing it from ITV and others.

More recently, Willoughby hosted Celebrity Bear Hunt alongside Bear Grylls on Netflix. The show, however, did not receive a renewal for a second season.

Author’s Summary

Holly Willoughby is rumored to be the BBC’s new choice for Strictly Come Dancing, marking a potential high-profile return after her 2023 This Morning departure.
