Arc Raiders Achieves 1.6 Million Sales Despite Launch Issues

Arc Raiders, the new multiplayer extraction shooter by Embark Studios, sold an estimated 1.6 million copies within its first three days, shortly after reaching a peak of 354,836 concurrent players.

Sales and Revenue

According to the Steam analytics page Gamalytic, the game generated approximately US$61.1 million in revenue from these sales. This figure reflects only PC sales, with console sales expected to raise the total even further.

Launch Weekend Challenges

The launch weekend faced technical difficulties as the large player base caused matchmaking and login problems. Servers went down for several hours before Embark Studios resolved the issues.

Developer's Response

“The servers on Sunday had a wobble,” the developers said on X, joking that “Scrappy must’ve pecked a few wires loose.”

In appreciation and apology to players, Embark Studios offered 500 Raider Tokens to everyone who logged in during the launch weekend (2 November).

“As a token of our thanks, we’re sending 500 Raider Tokens to all Raiders who logged in on Sunday (2 November).”

This gesture aimed to thank players despite the rough start.

Author's summary: Arc Raiders reached impressive sales and revenue quickly, overcoming initial server struggles with developer compensation to players.
