After a challenging 31-10 loss on the road to undefeated Harvard, Dartmouth’s football team is preparing to host the Princeton Tigers this Saturday. The Big Green showed resilience despite the defeat and hopes to build on key moments from the previous game to get back on track.
Although Dartmouth struggled against Harvard’s dominant offense and defense, the team demonstrated renewed energy in the third quarter. Head coach Sammy McCorkle reflected on the halftime adjustments:
“We came out of halftime and really battled and put ourselves right back in the game. But they just out-executed us and we didn’t make enough plays when we did get that momentum going … We talked about it at halftime. Just go out there and take one play at a time, and let’s make sure we just do what we do. I think we did that in the third quarter.”
Chris Corbo ’26, a 2024 All-Ivy First Team tight end, emphasized the team’s potential when executing well:
“We showed that when we play at our best we can execute against anyone. We came out of halftime with a purpose.”
Defensive end Joshua Johnson ’27 highlighted the improvement in quarterback pressure during the Harvard game, aiming to replicate this performance against Princeton:
“With that game, specifically the pressure, we continued to put on the quarterback [which] was a huge thing.”
Overall, Dartmouth looks to harness these positive aspects as they prepare for a gritty contest against Princeton.
