Politics Nerd Spends the Day Following New York Election

Australian politics enthusiast Crystal Robinson recently took a lunch break after spending the day pretending to work while closely watching the New York election results. Despite her mostly Australian Instagram audience, she shared 12 Canva slides about the election on her story.

Robinson kept her work computer ready to monitor the polls streaming in, switching screens to her actual job whenever needed. She messaged a group of fellow politics fans, saying,

“This may as well be a public holiday. Even if I wasn’t checking the polls, I spent so long last night sharing Mamdani memes that there was no way I would have the energy to get any work done today.”

She added, “Plus I know what the polls were saying, but the polls weren’t ready for the massive late game push by the media and billionaires. I mean at this point, can we really trust American voters?”

Co-workers initially worried for Robinson, noting she seemed the most stressed at work since around the same time last year. Their concerns eased when she began cheering at her desk while looking at graphs.
