Cochrane Could Host 2026 Ironman 70.3 Calgary

Cochrane may become the new location for the 2026 Ironman 70.3 Calgary triathlon, pending approval from the town council. Platinum Racing Events, the organizers of Ironman 70.3 Calgary, have proposed relocating the event due to construction at Harmony Park.

Event Details and Dates

The two-day triathlon is planned for July 25–26, 2026, with setup starting on July 24. This will be the event’s 17th year, expected to attract about 1,100 athletes from up to 26 countries, along with over 500 spectators and 300 volunteers.

Race Course

If approved, the triathlon course will include a 1.9-kilometre swim at Ghost Lake, a 90-kilometre bike ride along rural roads north of Cochrane, and a 21.1-kilometre run through the town’s pathway network and river corridor.

The Historic Cochrane Ranche is proposed as the event headquarters.
