Kalispell Angler Terry Krogstad Wins Fall Mack Days
The 2025 Fall Mack Days Fishing Event on Flathead Lake, sponsored by the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes, concluded Sunday with a total of 19,144 lake trout entries, surpassing last year's 18,414 entries.
A total of 335 anglers participated, with 116 submitting one or more lake trout. The catch totals were 5,369 from Monday to Thursday and 13,775 from Friday to Sunday, both exceeding the 2024 totals of 3,811 and 14,603 respectively.
Top Angler and Contest Winners
Terry Krogstad of Kalispell claimed the Top Angler title, registering 1,206 entries and an 18-day average of 57.83. The Top 10 anglers were ranked by their best 18 days of entries:
- David Myers of Riverton, Wyoming: 986 entries, 51.56 average
- Larry Ashwell of Missoula: 1,007 entries, 49.5 average
- Julie Perkins of Kalispell: 1,027 entries, 48.83 average
- Jack Kirkland of Lolo: 803 entries, 41.89 average
- Patrick Casey of Townsend: 774 entries, 41.06 average
- Devon Burkowski of Kalispell: 760 entries, 38.06 average
- Richard Kreis of Huson: 663 entries, 33.39 average
- Lyndon Lee of Canada: 535 entries, 27.67 average
- Mike Benson of Lonepine: 516 entries, 27.17 average
Jens Gran of Polson won all three Bucket of Fish contests with a total of 93.65 pounds of lake trout.
