ViaSat-3 F2 delayed

ViaSat-3 F2 Launch Delayed by 24 Hours

Viasat’s newest satellite, the ViaSat-3 F2, part of the company’s global expansion program, has experienced a 24-hour launch delay.

The satellite was originally scheduled to lift off late on November 5 from Space Launch Complex 41 at Cape Canaveral, using United Launch Alliance’s Atlas V rocket. Due to a technical issue with the booster’s liquid oxygen tank vent valve during final checkouts, the launch attempt was canceled.

“We will not continue with countdown operations,” announced ULA Launch Director James Whelan.

The new target for liftoff is November 6 at 10:16 p.m. EST, marking the start of a 44-minute launch window. The rocket will require approximately three and a half hours to reach its geostationary transfer orbit, after which the satellite will undergo testing before being transferred to its final orbital position.
