Toronto police have charged an 18-year-old woman in connection with a suspected hate-motivated assault that occurred on a TTC subway train last month. The incident took place around 1:16 a.m. on October 21 at Bloor-Yonge station, when officers were called to respond.
Investigators report that the accused was aboard a subway car when she allegedly approached another passenger, hurled homophobic remarks, and sprayed the victim with a noxious substance. The victim suffered minor injuries, and the suspect fled immediately after the attack.
Police say the victim and the accused are not known to each other.
