FBI Supports Investigation of UPS Jet Crash

FBI evidence response teams from headquarters and several field offices have arrived in Louisville to assist NTSB investigators in probing the crash of a UPS cargo plane at Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport.

Crash Details and Recovery Efforts

The cargo jet, an MD-11F, crashed in the late afternoon of November 6, 2025. According to the NTSB, the aircraft's left engine separated from the wing during its takeoff roll. The detached engine was located on the airport grounds between the parallel runways.

FBI agents in Louisville are actively collecting debris not only from the airport but also from nearby homes and businesses affected by the crash. Additionally, FBI bomb technicians are present to ensure the safety of the area.

Casualties and Missing Persons

At a briefing on November 6, Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg reported that nine people remain missing, while twelve have been confirmed dead as a result of the fiery crash.

“The names of the victims will be released by the Jefferson County Coroner's Office,” said Greenberg.

The combined efforts of federal and local agencies continue as the investigation progresses.
