The men's cross-country team, also known as the Jarheads, achieved a notable success at the Ray Bullock Invitational on October 10.
The event took place at the Taylor University Farm, a location familiar to the team as they practice there almost every Tuesday. This familiarity proved to be an advantage, according to senior Luke Harber, who noted that the team's knowledge of the elevation gave them an edge on their home "court".
"I didn’t look back," Harber said. "I just kept looking towards home."
Harber placed first overall with a time of 25:01, closely followed by senior Ryan Hanak who placed second with a time of 25:05. Junior Nathan Burns also had a notable performance, finishing ninth.
The team's strong performance led to them taking second place at the invitational, with all scoring runners placing in the top 15. This achievement is significant given the small field of 11 teams, where every place mattered.
