A 65-year-old RAF veteran from Moray will participate in the Remembrance Day parade in London.
Mal Scott, who was based at RAF Kinloss and now lives in Nairn, will attend the march-past with his daughter, Helen Sirrell, also an RAF veteran.
“I’ve always watched the ceremony at the Cenotaph on TV and never thought I would get the honour of taking part myself. To do so with my daughter is wonderful.”
Mal lost special friends in a tragic Nimrod crash in Afghanistan in 2006. He and his daughter will join 10,000 others from the veteran community at the parade on November 9.
Mal's great uncle, George Shutt, fought in the Second World War as one of the first SAS soldiers and was involved in the Battle of Arnhem.
