According to a Cumbria-based accountancy firm, confidence among North West businesses has deteriorated but remains higher than most other parts of the UK.
The latest ICAEW Business Confidence Monitor (BCM) shows a slight decline in sentiment, falling to -0.4 after reaching +0.2 in the second quarter of 2025.
Business confidence has fallen slightly from what was reported back in July. The survey reveals the North West is still holding up better than most areas and local businesses are resilient.
Despite the dip, the North West remains one of the UK’s most resilient regions, outperforming the national average of -7.3.
