Teenager who deliberately tried to crash into M6 bridge is prosecuted

Teenager Prosecuted for Dangerous Driving

A 19-year-old teenager, Ryan Kerrigan, has been prosecuted for dangerous driving after deliberately crashing his car near a bridge on the M6 motorway near Carlisle.

According to prosecutor Diane Jackson, the incident occurred on June 24 at approximately 11pm, when Kerrigan was driving his Renault Clio on the southbound carriageway between Junctions 43 and 44.

He made the decision that he wanted to end his life at that point and attempted to do that and hit a motorway bridge, causing a one-vehicle traffic accident.

Kerrigan entered a guilty plea to a single allegation of dangerous driving at Carlisle's Rickergate court and faced the legal consequences of his actions.
