SOU Percussion Ensemble Launches Eclectic Playlist for 2025-26 Season
Southern Oregon University’s Percussion Ensemble offers a unique musical experience, open to any interested student at SOU.
The ensemble, also known as SOUPE, aims to expose its members to a diverse range of musical styles and cultures from around the world. This includes learning to play instruments not commonly found in popular American music.
Participating students meet weekly to develop their percussion skills and prepare for performances and recording opportunities. The ensemble welcomes students of all experience levels, although some musical experience is preferred. Additionally, instrumentalists from other disciplines are also invited to participate.
The ensemble is like a weekly beat-down in the Music Building.
