Human Trafficking in Fiji: Contradicting Figures

ACP Waqa made these comments during the Fiji Law Society Convention and the 2nd Pasefika Lawyers Collective Conference, themed "Embracing Change: The Future of Law in the Pacific," held at the Crowne Plaza in Nadi.
He noted that human trafficking is a relatively new issue in Fiji, emerging about 20 years ago, and that international observers have detected its presence in the country. Additionally, domestic intelligence has revealed that human trafficking is being organized by certain groups in Fiji.
