OpenAI has introduced Aardvark, a GPT-5-powered security agent currently in private beta, designed to detect and patch hidden bugs in code like a human researcher.
Aardvark aims to embed AI-driven defense into the development workflow by scanning, reasoning, and patching software with professional-level vulnerability analysis skills.
“OpenAI Aardvark is different as it mimics a human security researcher,” said Pareekh Jain, CEO at EIIRTrend. “It uses LLM-powered reasoning to understand code semantics and behavior, reading and analyzing code the way a human security researcher would.
Aardvark's approach differs from conventional scanners, as it analyzes code behavior and attempts to understand the reasoning behind it, rather than just mechanically flagging suspicious code.
