The Weston Historical Society and the Weston Public Library have joined forces to encourage locals to preserve and celebrate the town's unique history.
During a recent Weston History Exhibit, Weston Historical Society President Jeremy Schroeder shared an interesting fact about the town's first ordinance, which was passed after the Village of Weston was incorporated in 1874.
“Were the town’s business owners so distressed over people hitching their horses to the downtown trees that they were like, ‘You know what? It’s time to form a government?”
Schroeder jokingly added that the discovery of the town's first ordinance could have been used to support his recommendation for planting more trees.
The event aimed to showcase Weston's historical collections and generate community interest in local history.
