The Southeast Bulloch Yellow Jackets entered the 2025 season with high expectations, following a 10-3 record and a state quarterfinals appearance in the previous year.
Despite returning several starters, including skilled position players, the team suffered a significant loss to Long County, with a 43-21 score at Fred Shaver Field, jeopardizing their playoff chances.
"I feel like everyone is frustrated and disappointed after the loss to Long County," said coach Jared Zito. "Credit to Long County as they played hard and executed at a high level. We played well at times but we were just not consistent."
The team looks to end the regular season with a win over Beach in Brooklet, still holding onto a slim chance of securing a playoff berth.
