Three individuals have been arrested after a police stop on the A44 led to the discovery of a firearm and two knives in a car.
In the early hours of October 12, the Cotswold Neighbouring Policing team observed a vehicle behaving unusually near Stow-on-the-Wold. After passing the police car, the vehicle suddenly stopped and activated its hazard lights, prompting officers to turn back and check on it.
Upon speaking to the driver, officers noticed an air rifle in the passenger footwell. The driver claimed they and the two passengers were attempting to shoot pheasants.
A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed two knives, leading to the arrest of the three individuals.
