Flyers Send Jett Luchanko Back to Juniors
The Philadelphia Flyers have returned 19-year-old Jett Luchanko to his junior team, Guelph of the OHL, to play more minutes and refine his game.
Due to limited NHL ice time and rules restricting his options, the Flyers opted to prioritize Luchanko's development over keeping him with the team.
The Flyers were in a bit of a pickle with Luchanko. The 19-year-old, by rule, isn't allowed to play in the AHL. So it's either he plays for the Flyers or he has to go back to his junior team.
The Flyers are focused on winning now and do not have a spot for Luchanko in the top nine. Despite this, the team had wanted to give him an opportunity to earn a spot.
