Update Mobile Number Linked to Driving Licence
Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) cautions driving licence holders and vehicle owners to update their mobile numbers.
Those with incorrect, inactive, or unlinked numbers will not receive important information like challans, fine notices, or licence renewals.
- Official messages from the transport department are sent to the linked mobile number.
- If the number is old or deactivated, the system cannot send alerts.
MoRTH had issued a notification in August 2024 for vehicle owners to get their vehicle's Aadhaar verification done.
