Barton Community College hosted the Kansas Community College Corequisite Symposium, bringing together community college faculty, staff, and administrators to share strategies and strengthen corequisite English and math instruction.
Nearly 100 participants from 16 community colleges attended the interactive one-day event, which aimed to help transition from traditional developmental education to a corequisite model.
“Developing a winning playbook together”
was the theme, encouraging participants to share lessons and strategies to improve student outcomes and equity in corequisite education. Barton Dean of Academics Stephanie Joiner said:
“We were so proud to host and facilitate this important conversation in support of students”
The event provided an invaluable opportunity for educators to exchange ideas and improve corequisite instruction.
