Nick Canepa's Report Card: Chargers QB and Running Backs Earn A's

Nick Canepa grades the Chargers following Thursday's 37-10 win over the Vikings at SoFi Stadium.

Going into the game, Justin Herbert had been hit 62 times, yet leads the league in passing yards and attempts. He has also been running more than ever, averaging 26.6 yards per game, largely out of necessity.

Under pressure, Herbert's first hot pass was initially a pick-six, but was reversed by replay. He then led his team on a 16-play drive for a touchdown. Herbert kept running well and found Ladd McConkey for a 27-yard touchdown just before the break.

With running backs Omarion Hampton on injured reserve and Najee Harris out for the year, Kamani Vidal has stepped up to be the team's legs when Herbert's aren't enough. Vidal ran like a starter, with great purpose, scoring and gaining chunk after chunk. Jaret Patterson was also activated.
