A New Partnership to Support People with Brain Injuries

A New Partnership to Support People with Brain Injuries

Headway Devon, a local charity based in Exeter, specializes in helping individuals rehabilitate from head injuries.

Often, people with brain injuries are discharged home to a family network without wider support, leaving them feeling alone after months of hospitalization and rehabilitation.

You've spent months in hospital, in ICU, in rehabilitation with a team of clinicians around you and suddenly you're all alone.

This new partnership with Thompsons Solicitor's, MAPS Benevolent Trust, and the Players of the Postcode Lottery enables Headway Devon to provide support to people in the hospital, rather than waiting for them to find the charity.

Headway Devon currently works with around 100 people weekly, but many more go home alone without knowing about the charity's services.

This partnership aims to bridge that gap and provide essential support to those recovering from brain injuries.

Author's summary: New partnership supports brain injury patients.
