Nearly 2,000 customers were left without power on a cold Friday night in Cobleskill, New York.
A transformer fire at the National Grid substation on South Grand Street caused the outage, with
a "large popping noise" reported before the main transformer caught fire.
Power has since been restored to all affected communities by National Grid.
The cause of the transformer fire remains under investigation.
