Honoring Darren McFadden
The Arkansas football team has introduced a No. 5 jersey patch to honor Darren McFadden, a former player who won the Doak Walker Award and was a Heisman Trophy runner-up in 2006 and 2007.
- Two numbers in Arkansas football history have been retired: Brandon Burlsworth's 77 and Clyde Scott's 12.
- McFadden's number is not retired, but honored with a patch on the jerseys of defensive tackle Cam Ball and wide receiver Ja'Kayden Ferguson.
“It's a conversation piece,”
said McFadden, who was honored on the field during Arkansas' game against Texas A&M.
The patch features McFadden's silhouette and initials, D.M.
