Pelicans' rookie Derik Queen has been cleared to resume full basketball activities after undergoing surgery on July 18, 2025, to repair a torn scapholunate ligament in his left wrist.

Queen sustained the injury during a Pelicans Summer League game on July 15. The Pelicans open the season on Wednesday, October 22, in Memphis against the Grizzlies, and then return to the Smoothie King Center to take on the San Antonio Spurs on Friday, October 24.
