A project to redevelop the former Devon police station and magistrates’ court in Exeter has taken! a step forward, with plans to build over 800 homes for both university students and local residents.
The proposed development, located in Heavitree Road, would involve the demolition of the existing buildings and the construction of blocks of mixed-use homes, including purpose-built student accommodation and co-living spaces, with some blocks reaching up to six storeys high.
The site has been vacant since October 2020, and the applicant, NCO (Seven) Ltd, has submitted a full planning application to the city council, following the rejection of a previous application in February 2023.
No comment from the city council was available at the time of writing.
