Teague Stays Local, Runs Local as Southside Student Now Competes for UAFS

Isaac Teague, a Fort Smith native and Southside High School alumnus, is now a senior at the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith (UAFS), competing in cross country at the collegiate level.

Teague signed with UAFS and is in his fourth and final season. He takes pride in running for his hometown school, stating:

“Any way that I could boost Fort Smith and show them that we’re still on the map and that we can keep working hard and do what we need to do,”

He chose UAFS for its academic offerings and affordability, saying

“Personally, Fort Smith was really the place for me; it had what I wanted to achieve academically for a good price.”
