A Tribute to Gill Knight
Leah Levane remembers her friend, Gill Knight, a tireless stalwart and leader in the movements for Palestine, women’s liberation, and socialism.
Gill Knight, a true warrior woman, passed away in Hastings after a severe second stroke early in 2024.
She was based in Hastings for many years, and tributes are pouring in from the local Palestine Solidarity Campaign, of which she was a founder member, from Women’s Voice, and from colleagues in the Sussex South Coast branch of Unite the Community Union.
These tributes bring comfort to her family, and she was able to be at home thanks to her daughter's support.
After retirement, Gill devoted her energies to campaigning for Palestine, women, and socialism, including serving as the Constituency's Women's Officer for some years after joining the Labour Party when Corbyn was elected.
