Deer Hunters Encouraged to Donate Venison
The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) and the Conservation Federation of Missouri (CFM) encourage deer hunters to donate venison to the Share the Harvest program.
The donated deer meat goes to local food banks and pantries to help feed hungry Missourians. Since 1992, the program has provided over six million pounds of venison.
- Hunters can donate venison during or after the season.
- To donate, take harvested deer to an approved meat processor and specify the donation amount.
- Meat-processing fees are covered by local and statewide sponsors.
