A fire broke out at a recyclables scrap yard in Lorton, Virginia, on Tuesday, injuring a firefighter and six others, with one person in critical condition.
Fire crews from Fairfax County and Fire Rescue battled the flames at Davis Industries, located at 9920 Richmond Highway, for several hours.
Deputy Fire Chief Greg Hunter said a scrap metal debris pile went up in flames around 1 p.m.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Firefighters rescued an employee trapped in a crane during the fire, who remains in critical condition as of Tuesday evening.
