Alaska Education Department Publishes Guidelines on AI Policies in Schools
The Alaska Department of Education and Early Development has released guidelines for developing artificial intelligence policies in schools, recommending responsible use of AI over bans.
These guidelines include recommendations on cultural responsiveness and security, positioning Alaska for federal AI education grants and funding opportunities.
“It positions Alaska to be highly competitive for federal AI education grants and other funding opportunities by demonstrating a clear, unified-level strategy,”
said Anthony White, DEED Computer Science Content Specialist, at a State Board of Education meeting.
