The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced a new First Presidency, with President Dallin H. Oaks as the new leader of the worldwide faith.
President Oaks, along with Todd Christofferson, were announced as counselors in the First Presidency, the highest governing body in the church, during a live broadcast from Temple Square on Tuesday afternoon.
This announcement comes more than two weeks after the death of President Russell M. Nelson, who led the church since 2018 and passed away at his Salt Lake City home on September.

The new First Presidency was announced on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at 1:20 pm.
