Mayo FC to Benefit from Budget 2026

Mayo FC has been allocated two full-time staff as part of the Budget 2026 announcement, which will aid in the club's future growth.

The roles, yet to be specified, will bring the total number of full-time staff in Irish soccer academies from 10 to over 60.

Mayo FC Chairman Joe Faughnan welcomes the news, suggesting the roles may include an Academy Manager and Director of Coaching.

The announcement is expected to help develop Irish players, who now have to wait until 18 to play in England due to Brexit.

Cllr Faughnan says the development will help towards the development of players here at home.
