A luxury off-grid resort on a privately owned island off the South Australian coast has won approval to expand.
The approval includes an onsen-inspired day spa, a Japanese restaurant, and an AI-powered guest management system, in addition to 22 ocean-view cabins.
The resort, Rumi on Louth, currently has five suites and an eight-bedroom private residence, hosting up to 16 guests, and operates entirely off-grid, powered by solar energy and supported by a desalination plant.
Sustainability efforts include composting systems, water management measures, and plans for chicken coops and vegetable gardens.
