Drink-Driver Involved in Two Crashes Within 101 Days

A 37-year-old drink-driver from Bowerchalke has been banned from driving for nearly two years after being involved in two crashes within a span of 101 days.

Lee Colman first crashed a Honda into a telecommunications pole on High Road in Bishopstone on March 31. According to prosecutor Roxanne Cole, Colman lost control of the car when he came around a bend at speed, and the vehicle ended up on its side.

Colman was breathalysed and arrested, and a blood sample taken at the hospital measured 190 milligrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres, exceeding the legal limit of 80 milligrams.

The legal drink-drive limit is 80 milligrams of alcohol.
