Pierce County Sheriff's Office Arrests Fleeing Driver
Deputies with the Pierce County Sheriff's Office arrested a man after a pursuit involving a stolen box truck over the weekend.
According to the sheriff's office, the chase began on Sunday night when a deputy spotted the stolen truck driving on 198th Ave East near Bonney Lake. The driver fled when the deputy attempted to stop the truck, leading to a chase.
Video released by the sheriff's office shows a deputy using a PIT (precision immobilization technique) to try to stop the truck. The deputy is heard saying on video:
"Two attempted PITs, he drove out of both of them. Third time's a charm,"after the third successful PIT maneuver.
The truck crashed into a grove of trees and the driver had to be pulled from the smoking vehicle.
