Many people are touched by the smile of St. Carlo Acutis when they see his photo, according to Cardinal Pietro Parolin.
Carlo spoke of Jesus above all with his radiant, luminous, and smiling face. Paul’s exhortation: ‘Rejoice in the Lord always,’
Cardinal Parolin said this in his homily at a Mass marking the first liturgical memorial of St. Carlo Acutis, who was canonized by Pope Francis on October 10, 2020, but the article mistakenly says Pope Leo XIV on September 7. The Mass was celebrated at the Mary Major Church in Assisi at the Shrine of the Renunciation.
St. Carlo Acutis died in 2006 at the age of 15 due to fulminant leukemia and his body rests in a glass case on the side of the nave of the church.
