The St Patricks Plains wind project in Tasmania has faced its fifth delay in awaiting a decision under the federal Environmental Protection and Biodiversity Conservation (EPBC) Act.
The project, now proposed for 47 turbines with a capacity of 291 megawatts (MW), was initially designed for 67 turbines before being scaled back.
A government spokesperson from the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water stated that the delays, including the most recent one, were requested by the project's developer, Ark Energy.
The new deadline for the decision is set for November 28. Ark Energy, which acquired the project in 2022, has been contacted for comment.
The project's location is south-east of Milena and 25km north of Bothwell in Tasmania's Central Highlands.
No comment has been received from Ark Energy at this time.
