The Writers Guild of America East urged its members not to immediately respond to a memo requested by editor-in-chief Bari Weiss.
The union represents a portion of CBS News staffers and wants to gather more information on the purpose of the memo before responding.
“how you spend your working hours — and, ideally, what you’ve made (or are making) that you’re most proud of”
Weiss asked staffers to submit the memo by Tuesday to get their views on “what’s working; what’s broken or substandard; and how we can be better”.
She took hold of CBS News on Monday after David Ellison’s Paramount completed its $150 million acquisition of The Free Press, Weiss’ “anti-woke” news operation.
