Tasmanian servicewomen have been recognised with the dedication of a new memorial chair, replacing a vandalised memorial at the Launceston Cenotaph Precinct.
"It's a tangible thing, so people can come and sit to reflect and remember what these service women did and still do for us,"
Launceston RSL Sub-Branch Women's Auxiliary president Dianne Brzeski stated that the volunteer committee aimed to honour both past and present defence women with something tangible.
"From the world wars to present-day peacekeeping missions, women from Tasmania have contributed courage, skill, and resilience to the nation's defence,"
Their stories of sacrifice, determination, and camaraderie are woven into Australia's history.
