Luke Landeskog will have a good Wednesday morning after his father, Gabe Landeskog, scored his first goal of the 2025-26 season. This was also Gabe’s first regular-season goal in 1,347 days. Despite two goals being wiped out by offside challenges earlier in the game, Landeskog finally opened his season tally during Colorado Avalanche’s 4-1 victory over the Anaheim Ducks at Ball Arena.
“(Luke) keeps asking me, and it’s just been, ‘No, not yet,'” Gabe Landeskog said. “This will feel good.”
“He’s had some tough luck,” Avs coach Jared Bednar said. “He’s been chipping in, but finally gets one on the board that counts. I loved the ovation from the crowd. Big goal for us.”
This goal marked Landeskog’s first regular-season goal since March 5, 2022, ending a long drought and boosting the Avalanche’s momentum.
Gabe Landeskog’s first goal in over three years came at a crucial moment, helping the Avalanche secure a strong win and lift both his and the team’s spirits.
