Jetstar is expanding its network in Adelaide by resuming flights to Melbourne Avalon Airport, offering promotional fares starting at $29. The service will recommence on 26 March 2026, providing South Australian travelers an affordable and convenient connection to Victoria.
The low-cost airline will operate up to seven return flights weekly, adding approximately 109,000 new low-fare seats annually. This route reconnects South Australia with Victoria’s Surf Coast, Bellarine Peninsula, and Geelong. Jetstar will use its Airbus A320 aircraft for the service, which was last available before the pandemic.
To mark the restart, Jetstar is offering one-way fares from $29, starting from 11:30am (ACDT) today. The promotion matches the airline’s initial launch prices from over twenty years ago and is expected to sell quickly.
“These new flights to Melbourne Avalon Airport provide South Australians with greater opportunities to take advantage of our low fares and are part of a significant increase in flights in and out of Adelaide this year,” said Jetstar CEO Stephanie Tully. “It’s now easier and more affordable than ever to access Victoria’s popular Surf Coast, Bellarine Peninsula wine region, Geelong and Melbourne.”
Jetstar's relaunch of the Adelaide to Melbourne Avalon route significantly enhances affordable travel options for South Australians to Victoria’s key regional attractions.
