K-Pop star HyunA experienced a health scare while performing at the Waterbomb Festival in Macau on Sunday evening. Midway through singing her 2011 hit “Bubble Pop,” she suddenly collapsed on stage. Backup dancers immediately rushed to her side, and a bodyguard helped carry her off.
After fans expressed concern on social media, HyunA reassured everyone with an update on Instagram. She said:
“It was a short break between performances, but I wanted to show you my best. I don’t remember anything that happened, and I feel like I wasn’t professional.”
“I just want to say thank you for admiring, cherishing, and loving me since I was very young, even though I’ve always been lacking. Don’t worry about me.”
Some fans speculated that her fainting could be linked to her drastic 10 kg weight loss over the past month due to an intense diet. However, HyunA has previously experienced fainting episodes because she suffers from vasovagal syncope—a condition that causes frequent blackouts and severe emotional distress.
HyunA fainted during a performance in Macau but quickly updated fans that she is recovering, attributing her collapse to a medical condition rather than recent weight loss.
